Send Flowers to Holbæk, Denmark

Holbæk is a town in north-west Zealand on Holbæk Fjord, an arm of the Isefjord, about an hour west of Copenhagen by train. It has a harbour, a compact old centre, a hospital and a growing population of commuters and families, with the farmland and coast of Odsherred nearby. Flowers are sent to Holbæk from abroad for parents and in-laws, for a friend's new baby, for round birthdays and for condolences.

Mother's Day in Denmark is the second Sunday of May. Holbæk families celebrate spring confirmations and June graduations with bouquets, and round birthdays with flags at the gate and flowers all day. Valentine's Day has become popular with younger couples. For a bereavement, the custom is a wreath or bouquet sent to the church or chapel before the ceremony, with a short card.

Next-day delivery is available on orders placed before midnight Danish time. Provide the recipient's phone number so the florist can call ahead and rearrange if nobody is in. Roses, lilies, tulips, mixed bouquets and plants are usually stocked; otherwise a closely equivalent arrangement is suggested.
