Send Flowers to Hjørring, Denmark

Hjørring is the main town of Vendsyssel in northern Jutland, inland from the North Sea beaches at Løkken and Lønstrup and about forty minutes from Aalborg. It is a service and shopping centre for the surrounding farms and coastal villages, with a hospital and a pleasant pedestrian centre. People abroad send flowers to Hjørring for parents and grandparents, for friends who stayed in the north, for anniversaries and for sympathy.

Danish Mother's Day is on the second Sunday in May. Hjørring families celebrate confirmations in spring and the graduates' week in June with bouquets, and a 60th or 70th birthday with flags and flowers. Christmas is marked with hyacinths and decorated pine. If you are sending condolences, a wreath or bouquet to the chapel before the funeral follows local custom.

Order before midnight Danish time for next-day delivery. Include the recipient's phone number: the florist calls ahead and finds another time if nobody is home. Roses, lilies, tulips, mixed bouquets and potted plants are usually available; if a flower is not in stock, a close equivalent is proposed.
